About The 1882 Reserve

Prior to our ownership, the barn had been utilized for traditional barn purposes: animal production and storage for hay and equipment. When we became the owners of this property in 1987, the barn was used as storage for both our family and the Delphos Canal Commission. It was also a prime play space for our four children and their cousins and friends.

Our daughter Gabrielle, was the true inspiration for what the barn would one day become. As a little girl, Gabby dreamed of celebrating her wedding reception here-a very tall order for a weathered working barn! As we began to renovate in 2018, an old script numeral was discovered carved into an upper beam:1882. Realizing the barn was at least 140 years old, we knew this history belonged at the heart of its new identity.  The name The 1882 Reserve was born.

With the help of family and friends, the transformation came to life within a year. Gabrielle and Kendall's wedding was everything she had imagined-beautiful, heartfelt, and filled with memories we will cherish forever.

We invite you to become part of this story and allow us the honor of helping make your dreams come true.
